In the year 2000, a patient, his caregiver, a doctor and a nurse opened the Oak Clinic for Multiple Sclerosis having a sole mission to treat and empower individuals living with MS regardless of their ability to pay.

That patient, Jim Oelschlager, passed away in October, but Vanita, his beloved spouse and devoted caregiver, is proud that Jim’s legacy lives on and will continue until a cure for MS is found. 

The Oak Clinic treats over 2,000 patients, administers 300 infusions each month, and has grown to a staff of 23. The Oak Clinic pharmacy fills over 700 prescriptions each month and over half of those are mailed to

patients at no cost to them. Wellness, exercise and yoga classes reach 90 patients each month and empowers them to maintain their quality of life. And daily, we provide medical equipment, medications, living expenses and other necessities to those who so desperately need it. All in all, The Oak Clinic ranks among the best independent not-for-profit specialty clinics in the United States.
